Milestones in Our Journey
After an early stage of family workshop operations, Yueqing Changcheng Electrical Components Factory was established in Wenzhou, Zhejiang in 1988, focusing on low-voltage electrical components and laying the foundation for the development of today’s CMC Electric.
Against the backdrop of market regulation in China’s electrical sector, we remained committed to product quality and responsible manufacturing. In 1993, the company was upgraded to Zhejiang Changcheng Switch Factory and relocated to a new production facility, marking an important step toward standardized manufacturing.
Zhejiang Changcheng Electric Group was formed in 1995, marking a new stage of group-based development. With an expanded product range, sales companies, and distribution channels, the company gradually grew into an electrical enterprise with a nationwide presence across China.
The CMC trademark was put into use in 2010, creating a clearer and more recognizable corporate brand. With a renewed brand image, the company continued to uphold the same commitment to manufacturing quality and product reliability. This new brand identity laid the foundation for the later development of CMC Electric in international markets.
The Shanghai Jinshan Factory was put into operation in 2011, serving as a manufacturing base for transformers and switchgear. With a registered capital of RMB 105.67 million, approximately USD 16.4 million, CMC Shanghai became a core subsidiary and main manufacturing platform within the group.
